Getting started

SwapFS is one bar for your files, your drives and your agents, on your computer.

Requirements

macOS 26 or later on Apple Silicon. Linux and Windows come next.

Open the bar

Section titled “Open the bar”

On macOS, Command-Space is the default hotkey. Taking over Spotlight is optional.

Section titled “Narrow a search”

Type to search apps, files, contacts and settings in one ranked list. Narrow it with operators:

  • kind: keeps one kind of result, for example kind:file road.
  • in: keeps what lives in a place, for example in:documents.

Ask your own agent

Section titled “Ask your own agent”

Ask opens a chat with the agent CLIs you already have installed, such as OpenCode or Grok, and Claude Code or Codex through their ACP adapter. SwapFS does not host a model.
